Page 1 of 2 Saybia want us to believe, that it's a coincidence that they sounds like Radiohead, Travis and Coldplay. That's a bit hard to swallow for yours truly. The similarity is just to remarkable. Not that it really matters, if Saybia have looked at England or not; but it's a bit annoying, that you can't listen to "The Second You Sleep" without thinking of Saybias English brothers in spirit. One is inclined only to see the weaknesses - missing Radioheads ingenuity, Travis' direct catchy songs and Coldplays heartbreaking melancholic. Otherwise Saybia has a lot to offer. They are great musicians - especially Søren Huss' far-reaching and untroubled vocal impresses - and on "The Second You Sleep" it's swept in a handsome and impressive production. The songs is build up beautiful and gives all a little suction in the stomach, a clear sign of really magnificent rock music. They isn't immediate catching, but in return they gradually become more captivation, and in the end almost impossible to let go again. "The Second You Sleep" is a unusual perfect piece of art: few songs stands out, but almost none falls thru. Only "Snake Tongued Beast" seems a bit out of place with its dark bass, howling sample and Tim Christensen-chorus. Otherwise Saybia made a distinguished, plane level; and did you like the P3-plaques "Fools Corner and "The Day After Tomorrow", you can certainly expect to find more of the same carat here. Rating:
